Posted: 01 Dec 2010 04:02 AM PST So I look out my window and there are hundreds of birds. All over. The Cedar Waxwings have arrived to strip the trees bare of their berries. They were everywhere. In the front yard, side yard, backyard. Being the photographer that I am, I immediately began lamenting the fact that it was a dark, dreary day here. The lighting was horrible. I never did get the perfect shot I was looking for. But I sure had a good time trying. Aren’t the tips of their tails and wings cute? Love the colors. It’s been a few years since I’ve seen them come through and strip the bushes and trees. I always see the remnants…they scatter and smash berries everywhere…but I haven’t seen the actual birds in a few years. So glad I happened to glance out my kitchen window and catch them today. (SuperGuy has a mess of smashed berries to clean up off the deck, front walkway, and patio though…too bad he just put the hoses away and turned off the outside faucets… Oh. My. Gosh. It’s December 1st people! Nobody. I mean NOT ONE PERSON comment here that they’ve finished their holiday shopping!!
