| Four Random Thoughts for a Thursday Posted: 18 Nov 2010 08:04 AM PST - A few weeks ago, I told you about musician Patti Smith’s memoir Just Kids. It won the National Book Award yesterday!
- Just watched an amazing documentary called The Last Days (1998), in which several Hungarian Jews (now living in the U.S.) talk about their experiences of the Holocaust. Parts of the film are extraordinarily difficult to watch, but what a story these survivors tell.
- Went out for hotpot (basically Asian fondue) last night. Luckily, we have a lot of hotpot places in Boston. It’s about the 10th time I’ve done hotpot this year.
- The day after Thanksgiving has come to be known as “Black Friday.” Please don’t use the term ‘black’ for things that are bad. It’s rude.
