The Boomer Chronicles |
Posted: 15 Apr 2010 07:05 AM PDT Continuing on my quest to read more Depressing Books Set in Other Countries, I just finished these three novels: A Fine Balance by Rohinton Mistry. A great book about two tailors in India who are just getting by. This novel is peopled by a number of truly memorable characters. Arlington Park by Rachel Cusk. A bunch of couples who live in a London suburb and suffer the often existential angst of being married with kids. The Exception by Christian Jungersen. Set in Denmark, this intriguing workplace thriller kept me enthralled almost until the end. |
