I Flew to Oregon for the Weekend Posted: 07 Nov 2011 09:56 AM PST I had two days to see Portland, Oregon, and I did a bang-up job, if I say so myself. A summary of the events: I biked all over the city for one entire day, and saw the Waterfront, Chinatown, the Pearl District, the public library, a cute diner-y place called the Stepping Stone, a lot of old neon signs, had a great lunch at Henry’s (see dessert photo below) and met friendly people everywhere. My hosts (photo below) and I also ate dinner at Higgins, visited an amazing farmers market with offerings you would never see on the East Coast, and I attended my first roller derby. The next day, my hosts took me to the Columbia River Gorge and we saw waterfalls and even went into Washington State for a little while. |
