Journalist Banon Faces Strauss-Kahn in Rape Accusation Posted: 29 Sep 2011 11:10 AM PDT French journalist Tristane Banon faced former International Monetary Fund director Dominique Strauss-Kahn in a two-hour meeting with police this week to each tell their story. (This kind of encounter is common in the French justice system when two people in a case give different versions of events.) Banon is accusing Strauss-Kahn of attempted rape in 2003 when he lured her to an empty apartment under the guise of giving her an interview. Banon first made her allegations public in 2007 but took them to magistrates only after chambermaid Nafissatou Diallo at a New York hotel accused Strauss-Kahn of sexual assault in May. Banon says she has been approached by numerous women with stories like hers. I wish her all the best. To help support her, please Like this Facebook page. |
