Journalist Banon Faces Strauss-Kahn in Rape Accusation

Posted: 29 Sep 2011 11:10 AM PDT

French journalist Tristane Banon faced former International Monetary Fund director Dominique Strauss-Kahn in a two-hour meeting with police this week to each tell their story. (This kind of encounter is common in the French justice system when two people in a case give different versions of events.) Banon is accusing Strauss-Kahn of attempted rape in 2003 when he lured her to an empty apartment under the guise of giving her an interview. Banon first made her allegations public in 2007 but took them to magistrates only after chambermaid Nafissatou Diallo at a New York hotel accused Strauss-Kahn of sexual assault in May.

Banon says she has been approached by numerous women with stories like hers. I wish her all the best. To help support her, please Like this Facebook page.

Do you want to live forever? A documentary film called How to Live Forever includes commentary by Ray Bradbury, Phyllis Diller, Ray Kurzweil, Jack LaLanne, Willard Scott, Suzanne Somers, and Marianne Williamson on the topic of longevity. The director, Mark Wexler, treks the world to investigate what it could mean to really live forever.

I think kids often want to live forever, but grow out of that dream. I certainly have. And you?

Monday Musings for Baby Boomers – Boomer Memory Glitches

Posted: 26 Sep 2011 04:23 AM PDT

Smile!

Smile!

Monday has always been a little bit of a let down, what with it being the beginning of the work week and all.

So to start things out on a bright note for the week, I bring you the…

Baby Boomers Monday Musings.

Boomer Memory Glitches

My forgetter’s getting better,
But my rememberer is broke
To you that may seem funny
But, to me, that is no joke

For when I’m “here” I’m wondering
If I really should be “there”
And, when I try to think it through,
I haven’t got a prayer!

Oft times I walk into a room,
Say “what am I here for?”
I wrack my brain, but all in vain!
A zero, is my score.

At times I put something away
Where it is safe, but, Gee!
The person it is safest from
Is, generally, me!

When shopping I may see someone,
Say! “Hi” and have a chat,
Then, when the person walks away
I ask myself, “Who was that?”

Yes, my forgetter’s getting better
While my rememberer is broke,
And it’s driving me plumb crazy
And that isn’t any joke.

Hope that put a little smile on your face and Keep On Smilin’
