Every week I come across an article or two that I find very helpful to me as a Baby Boomer and think may be of some interest to you, the community, as well.

They may be from an online news source, another Blog or Website or something I found surfing around the Internet. They could even be something that was sent in by a reader of the Blog or a member of the Baby Boomer’s Forum.

Boomers bemoan age discrimination by Sheryl Ubelacker… Been looking for a job lately? Hoping to hold on to the job you already have? Remember when we all said “Don’t trust anyone over 30″? Well, paybacks are a bitch. We are all well over 30 and facing the same age discrimination that we placed on our elders way back when.

“Grays” have expertise, allegiance employers should value by Andrea Kay… Something I think most employers are missing… the whole point. When they hire a kid just out of college, they will be looking for another job almost from day one. If they hire someone with experience (read: older worker) they will have loyalty as well as the knowledge to do the job right. Why don’t they get it?
