Posted: 01 Oct 2010 08:31 AM PDT I’ve noted a theme to the news this week… I like the way this guy thinks – I hate pennies too! Pennies are the turds in my pocket. Nickels too. For 400 pennies you can buy a foot long burger at Carl’s Jr. Rather than stacking them up, they have stretched them out. Same meat, same cheese, more bun! A man has a bowel movement once every 6 to 8 days. Now that would be pretty convenient. Being able to schedule your crap time has its advantages. Bet if he ate a Carl’s Jr. Footlong burger it would make him move quicker. Women apparently want to be more like men. Especially when it comes to peeing. Stand2Pee is offering an instructional video on how to carry out this manly feat. (Note: I am not affiliated with Stand2Pee) And finally this news: it will take an act of Congress to finally get the VOLUME OF COMMERCIALS LOWER. St. Augustine Beach Posted: 01 Oct 2010 03:50 AM PDT Then we went on to stay on South Ponte Vedra Beach right out of St. Augustine. You saw some of the photos of the place here. The place we stayed was fabulous. See the view from the Great Room? Loved that deck! The nice big kitchen were SuperGuy cooked fish. And more fish. Unless he was outside grilling fish. I guess you get the picture. We just loved this place. Love the beaches. Loved how deserted it was. Loved that it was a big old long string of houses with no high rises around. Loved, LOVED how flat the beaches were. I walked for miles on them. We went into St. Augustine to browse around, but I wasn’t into paying $10 a head at each attraction they had. Old Fort, old buildings, etc. The architecture was so interesting though. They also had a lighthouse. So I got to add to my collection of lighthouse photos. Barring something unforeseen, I’m pretty sure we’ll head back here next September. Loved it. We’ll probably stay longer than a week, if possible. I miss it. Lots. I think I need to be retired and living on a deserted beach. Just sayin’. (Oh. My. Gosh! It’s October!! Where did September go??) Similar Posts: Where, oh, where to vacation?? Help Me! Our Crummy Economy: A Scary Roundup Posted: 30 Sep 2010 08:09 AM PDT I learned a new word recently: prepper. It’s a name for a person who is preparing for the complete and total collapse of the U.S. economy. Some of them have stockpiled emergency food supplies, others have built fallout shelters reminiscent of the kind that were popular in this country at mid-century. Apparently, a lot of people are preparing for the collapse of the economy. Right now, I’m reading The Long Emergency: Surviving the Converging Catastrophes of the 21st Century by James Howard Kunstler. It’s not a book for the weak of heart.
